Farmer’s Market is back
The Lakeland Farmer’s Curb Market took a break for the summer, but is back in business now, starting a new season. The market will be open Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays 8 to 2.
The market is downtown, located at E. Pine St. and N. Kentucky, only 5 miles south of Lakeland RV Resort. The market kicked off the new season with live music and a contest, so we’re sure they’ll continue with the tradition, having events and deals throughout the season.
The market features food and product vendors selling seafood, fresh in-season vegetables and fruits, sauces, soaps, woodworking and more. All vendors are from Lakeland and their products are locally grown and made, so support our city whether you live here or are just visiting with Lakeland RV Resort.
Visit the Farmer’s Market website for more news and information on the event and all the vendors.
Multicultural festival
When you stay at Lakeland RV park, you’re close to all the central Florida attractions, but you don’t have to go far for entertainment. Local reggae band Democracy will headline the Lakeland Multicultural Festival on September 16.
The band will play from 6-9 p.m. and there will be food vendors and displays as well. There will also be other cultural acts between the band’s sets.
This free event will take place at the Lake Mirror ampitheatre, next to the Lake Mirror center. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend this fun, free event.
This is just one of the many different festivals going on in Lakeland, so keep checking our blog for more events and news at our park and around town!
Dog Days in Downtown
First Fridays in downtown Lakeland have been a popular attraction for locals and visitors since 2004. These events bring people from all over Florida and beyond to shop local and discover downtown past the normal 8-5 hours.
First Fridays always feature local vendors and entertainment and some feature special themes, like the upcoming Dog Days of Summer event on September 2. This version of First Friday will allow you to bring your best furry friends for all kinds of dog friendly events.
There will be a pooch parade, police K-9 demonstration, pet portraits, microchipping and more in addition to the outdoor dining, shopping and live music and entertainment that usually fills these events with fun for Lakeland residents and tourists.
If you’re staying with Lakeland RV this fall, be sure to check out this and more First Friday events, especially as the weather starts to cool down. Get more information about the Dog Days of Summer and more First Fridays on the Downtown Lakeland website.
Legoland Florida coming this fall
Central Florida is home to many theme parks and attractions, and we have frequent visitors at Lakeland RV Park who want to be close to the action. We’re looking forward to a new addition to Florida’s parks with the opening of Legoland Florida on October 15.
If you’re visiting Central Florida for a late vacation or a weekend family getaway, this park should provide plenty of entertainment for everyone. You can’t get in yet, but Legoland does have discounted tickets available for pre-purchase.

Save time waiting in the ticket lines when the park finally does open, and save some money off the regular ticket price. Adult tickets are $61 instead of the regular $65, and child tickets are $52 rather than the normal $55.
These prices may seem high, but the park will be a 150-acre playland complete with clubhouses, a lego factory tour, water and thrill rides, and of course plenty of places for the kids to play and learn with legos.
There are also many other parks and attractions in the area, so if these tickets don’t fit in your budget, there’s always something else that will! Stay at Lakeland RV Park to be close to all the theme parks and attractions in our area.
Uncommon Playground
Lakeland RV Resort is close to popular attractions like Disney World, Universal Studios and many Florida beaches. But the city also has many events and attractions to ensure that our guests won’t have to travel far to experience free family fun.
Common Ground is one of the many parks in Lakeland and is a unique twist on a normal playground for kids. It was dreamed up by two moms and has much more activities than the usual slide and monkey bars.
This park was built to allow children of all ages and abilities play side by side and has activities to develop their cognitive skills and most importantly, have fun. This unique park has a rock climbing wall, astroturf hill kids can roll down, and different play zones including Adventure Canyon and Butterfly Meadow.
Each zone is labeled for easy through challenging play levels so the activities and playground equipment is designed for their age group and abilities.
Get more information on this and other Lakeland parks on the city’s website. There’s never a dull moment for you or your family when you stay at Lakeland RV Park!
Live at Lakeland
If you’re looking for some live and local music you don’t have to go any further than the Lake Mirror Ampitheatre. This Music on the Promenade will feature three local up and coming bands from 6 to 9 p.m. on August 19.
The Brian Sutherland Trio, Walking Catfish, and California Baseball Band will all perform at this free event, bringing many different musical styles and sounds to our city.
The trio, made up of college student Sutherland and friends performs crooner covers ranging from Nat King Cole to Michael Buble, and Sutherland switches effortlessly from vocals to cello guitar, backed up by his talented band.
Indie/folk/rock band Walking Catfish has a more laid back sound, switching from acoustic tunes to surfer rock in different songs.
And California Baseball Band brings in banjo, harmonica and even mandolin for a simple and unique folk sound.
Come out to support these local bands and enjoy this free event with music the whole family can enjoy, blending rock and folk. And keep reading our blog for more news, events and things to do when you stay with us at Lakeland RV Park.
